mostrou alterar significativamente as medidas eletrofisiológicas. The objective of this work is to determine the impact of the presence of hydrophilic contact lenses of different materials in the recording of electrical activity of the retina by multifocal electrophysiology in myopic patients, using a contact electrode type DTL, and verify if the dilation does not interfere with these measures. Eleven myopic volunteers (mean age 26.72 ± 7.11 years) were recruited with a refractive error ranging from 0 to -3.00D. None of the volunteers had eye diseases or opacities. Patients were submitted to multifocal electrophysiology measurements in four conditions (without contact lens, with Proclear, with Biofinity and dilation), with the DTL electrode. The results showed statistically significant differences in the implicit time of N1, P1 and AP in quadrants 2, 3 and 4 (p <0.05) and in all the rings, with the exception of the 3rd ring, between the two contact lenses. Regarding the amplitude of P1, there were significant differences for the most three eccentric rings and for quadrant 3 (p <0.05). However, no statistically significant differences were found for N1 amplitude values. With respect to AP, significant differences were observed in the four most peripheral rings and in quadrants 3 and 4. Dilation had an influence on the amplitude of N1, P1 and AP. (p <0.05) In conclusion, the hydrogel lens apparently increases the amplitude and reduces the latency of implicit time compared to the silicone hydrogel contact lens. In this study, pupil dilation showed no significant differences in the electrophysiological measurements. |
