Abstract
This paper models the relationship between residential eviction and the displacement of public school students. Using a unique dataset assembled from eviction case records and school enrollment reports, the paper uses a fixed effects panel regression model to measure the extent to which eviction judgments predict "nonstructural" student exits, or exits not caused by graduation, regular grade promotion, or expulsion. I find that an increase eviction judgments predicts an increase in nonstructural exits, and that the magnitude of this relationship increases when accounting for variation across time-periods.
