Description: | The most numerous class of ancient ritual bell, it is designed to hang vertically by a large loop or canon, which as in the example given here is in the form of a pair of confronted animals. It is of oval section and on its surface there are usually 36 bosses or nipples arranged in sets of three. There is no clapper. -- h: 23 cm. |
