Abstract
This photograph portrays a covered outdoor market scene in New Orleans, Louisiana, ca. 1893. Market stall with table containing bananas and other fruits and baskets is seen at right of photo. Shoppers (both women and men) are seen in center. Two of the shoppers are looking at the directly at the photographer. Cityscape with buildings and railings is just outside to the left.

Photograph print (albumen type). Size - 3.9 in. x 3.9 in. (9.906 cm x 9.906 cm). Overall image faded to yellow with heavier yellowish brown at right and left edges of image. Marks are visible in lower center part the photo.
