Abstract
Choosing types of sires is one of the most important genetic decisions facing beef producers. This publication discusses the factors to consider in matching sires to a cow herd--environmental and management conditions and number of production phases involved, breeding systems used, breeds or types and individual performance levels and types of cows currently in the herd.
