The San Berillo web serie doc is the product of an audio-visual laboratory led by Maria Arena, a visual artist, in the San Berillo neighbourhood in Catania – practically a no man’s land mostly inhabited by mi- grants and sex workers. By promoting relational dynamics on the basis of shared experiences, this for- mat successfully portrays the existential trajectories of a community trying to rehabilitate its way of life through fertile practices of urban renewal.
