Silencios y nomadías: la desterritorialización de las ficciones biopolíticas en la dramaturgia de Teresa Marichal Lugo

Abstract

The objective of this thesis is to identify and analyze the critical and social discourse in the work of Puerto Rican writer Teresa Marichal Lugo. Specifically, it examines the post-feminist perspective established by the characters of the playwright as discursive entities that destabilize the patriarchal ideological and cultural system. The first chapter presents the theoretical frame of the study. As such, it considers the development of the minor literature concept and its relation to post-feminist literature. In light of this theoretical discussion, the second chapter analyzes the play Paseo al atardecer; a text that dismantles the biopolitical fiction of the woman-motherhood dyad. Likewise, the third chapter analyzes the monologue Piel; a critical reflection that celebrates the repossession of the female body. Finally, the last chapter discusses the monologue Rejum-Reja-Mujer-Rejum as a denouncement of the arbitrariness and deceitfulness in the cultural and ideological androcentric system.

El propósito de esta tesis es identificar y analizar el discurso crítico social que representa la dramaturgia de la escritora puertorriqueña Teresa Marichal Lugo. Específicamente, se examina la perspectiva posfeminista que plantean los personajes como entidades discursivas desestabilizadoras del sistema ideológico y cultural patriarcal. El primer capítulo presenta el aparato teórico utilizado, que consiste en el desarrollo del concepto de literatura menor y su relación con la teoría literaria posfeminista. A la luz de esta visión teórica, el segundo capítulo analiza el drama Paseo al atardecer; un texto en el que se desmantela la ficción biopolítica que constituye la díada mujer/maternidad. Asimismo, el tercer capítulo estudia el monólogo Piel; una reflexión crítica que celebra la reconquista del cuerpo femenino. Por último, el cuarto capítulo, discute el monólogo Rejum-Reja-Mujer-Rejum como una denuncia en contra de la arbitrariedad y el engaño que representa el sistema ideológico y cultural androcéntrico.
