Abstract
Heider College of Business at Creighton University leads the Human Trafficking Initiative, which collects and analyzes data to understand the scope of sex trafficking across the United States. This report focuses on the prevalence of commercial sex and trafficking in Nebraska and includes heat maps demonstrating the reach of Backpage advertisements across the state. The report discusses how sex workers are sold across state lines and indicators that individuals sold for sex may be trafficked, such as race, poverty, and age. The research indicates that between 20-30% of individuals engaged in commercial sex include adults working independently, who are not being trafficked.
