Abstract:

We study numerically the interaction of the Shockley surface state at the Γ-point of Cu(1 1 1) with periodic arrangements of adsorbed/absorbed Cu and Fe atoms. We use an spd tight-binding hamiltonian with the local basis enlarged to account for electron spillover. Copyright © 1998 Elsevier Science B.V.
