Pożyteczne i szkodliwe lektury według Jana Amosa Komeńskiego

Abstract
Jan Amos Komeński expressed his opinion on positive and negative effects of reading books many times, especially in pedagogic contexts. His views on the role of a book in religious education, reception of ancient writers, female reading, and topographic art are interesting. Komeński suggested a foundation of specialist libraries with a limited access to books, preparation of compendium devoted to different groups of readers: learners, babysitters, etc. A great educator warned against excessive reading, did not avoid strong criticism of ancient and modern authors, provided means of an efficient acquisition of knowledge, on the basis of selected sources and a proper techniques of reading taking notes from a book.
