Vibration detection using lasersInterference displacement patterns produced when light from a laser illuminates diffusely reflecting, vibrating surface are observed and photographed. Standing wave modes on model surface can be interpreted in order to yield amplitude and frequency of vibrations. Flat, white surfaces yield best interference patterns, even over considerable surface curvature.
