Stability of multirate sampled-data systemsCurrent adaptive sampling schemes that can be used in sampled-data systems with variable rate sampling does not guarantee the stability of the resulting closed-loop system. A study was undertaken with the objective of finding a stable control law for multirate sampled-data systems. The problem is formulated such that the sampling interval is selected from a set of fixed number of sample intervals. A necessary and sufficient condition under which these types of systems can be stabilized is given. For a certain subclass of these types of systems, a sampling selection algorithm is given which results in a stable closed-loop system.
