The talk deals with the ways how images of Nine-Eleven were used to construct an effective visual narrative in order to prove the truth of the unlikely. If the term 'evidence' signifies that which tends to prove something, a sign that makes plain or clear, than 'rhetorics of evidence' would mean communicating this evidence in an effective and persuading way. The images of the event are integrated into a narrative with ideological purposes that uses solemn, or even melodramatic strategies in order to create the impression of authenticity: of the event as such but also of the emotions it provoked or should provoke: grief, patriotic unity and strength, etc.
