[Some thoughts about a clinic of bond] Some parents are confronted with the death of their baby before it is born, or just after. When that happens, the ordeal they go through may be particularly violent. Although present and supportive, families and friends do not necessarily measure the extent of the loss for the parents, who already feel intimately bonded with their child even if they have not spent a very long time together. All perinatal professionals can, from their own position and field of expertise, find some way to help secure parents, both emotionally and medically. Team work that breaks silos and draws the best of everyone, can help parents live some rewarding human experience, above and beyond the unspeakable and the unthinkable of the situation.
