Although he is the only evangelist who never uses the word law, Mark nonetheless has his own perspective on this theme which is so important in Judaism, the religion in which the movement started by Jesus was born. The perspective is not easy to grasp and this fact appears in the diversity of opinions concerning this question. The first part of this article establishes the status quaestionis. The second part is devoted to a study of the discussion concerning uncleanness in Mk 7, 1-23, a pericope which constitutes a key of the first importance for understanding the theme of the law. Taken as a whole it appears that Mark is not an antinomian. In his point of view, the law remains good news, but under certain conditions. It has to be subject to the Gospel of the Kingdom of God and to interpretative keys of life
