Climate change has a significant impact on the environment and negative repercussions on economic growth, human health and food security. This makes it one of the greatest challenges facing the world nowadays. In fact, many of the consequences of global warming can be observed around the world, whether in terms of drought, forest fires, floods and so on. All these events are caused by human activity and industries. In order to mitigate their effects and avoid their business being seriously affected in the future, companies need to find ways to limit their carbon footprint right now. Therefore, in this master's thesis, we analyze the impact of climate change on the pharmaceutical industry, and more specifically on the risk management and operations, such as production, of large pharmaceutical companies. The pharmaceutical industry is very interesting to analyze on this subject, because it is a major consumer of water and energy, and a major polluter of terrestrial and marine ecosystems, but it does so to the benefit of public health through the medicines, vaccines and other products it manufactures. Nevertheless, this industry is taking numerous initiatives to address climate change, as developed in this thesis.
