Abstract
The aim of the session is to offer a follow-up of the discussion on the involvement of young scientists in FET oriented research, initiated during a workshop of the ICT 2008 in Lyon, France. More specifically, the session will provide a platform to
(1) assess more comprehensively the individual situation and needs of YS,
(2) identify existing access barriers to and challenges for YS participation in collaborative research,
(3) discuss openly actual benefits and limitations of the “conventional” YS pathways and funding instruments.
The results of this session are intended to serve as a basis and boost for a planned European support action project (SA) that investigates present and new access opportunities of YS to the FET Open scheme.
