I "Pauperes Yesuati” tra esperienze religiose e conflitti istituzionali

Il testo ricostruisce la storia della congregazione dei Gesuati, un’istituzione negletta dalla storiografia - se si eccettua il testo di Georg Dufner Geschichte der Jesuaten del 1970 – non a causa della sua poca importanza o della rarefazione della sua diffusione, bensì per l’oggettiva difficoltà nel reperimento delle fonti, disperse in un grande numero di archivi e biblioteche a seguito della soppressione avvenuta in epoca risalente (1668). La monografia segue un’accurata operazione di identificazione documentaria e mette a fuoco testimonianze inedite fondamentali per la ricostruzione delle vicende storiche dell’Ordine. La congregazione rappresenta un caso di studio estremamente interessante sotto vari profili, in primo luogo per quanto riguarda la sua costituzione. Essa infatti conobbe un lungo periodo molto fluido sotto il profilo istituzionale, un lungo periodo “carismatico” durante il quale prese via via forma e sostanza l’ossatura istituzionale del movimento che, attraversando fasi alterne e processi anche contraddittori giunse a disegnare il proprio profilo istituzionale in maniera talora originale, coniugando efficacemente riflessione teologica e diritto. Il dato sensibile che emerge dalla disamina giuscostitutiva consiste nel fatto che la progressiva istituzionalizzazione del gruppo gesuato non fu semplice effetto delle pressioni esterne (apparato ecclesiastico) ma si configurò come la conseguenza di una domanda interna di legittimazione e di auto definizione spesso maturata a seguito di esigenze pratico comportamentali (ad esempio la gestione di santuari da un lato, la necessità di ottenere i lasciti testamentari, dall’altro). Un elemento interessante risiede nella pervicace volontà di rifiutare l’inquadramento sacerdotale e nella strategia culturale e politica conseguente. In secondo luogo è stata analizzata la fisionomia culturale della congregazione, rintracciandone la peculiarità teologica, l’autocoscienza ecclesiologica e le forme prevalenti di pietà. In terzo luogo il testo mette in evidenza il sistema relazionale attivato dalla congregazione nei differenziati contesti del suo sviluppo locale e storico, evidenziando come la rete di contatti tra i gesuati e numerosi altri attori esterni (singoli, gruppi, circoli, ambienti devoti) abbai prodotto un’interazione determinante tanto sul versante interno, quanto su quello esterno. Infine, nel corso della trattazione, è stato dato rilievo a figure particolarmente significative nel quadro della storia congregazionale (ad es. Giovanni Colombini e Antonio Bettini). ----- The book traces the history of the “Jesuatorum” congregation, an institution neglected by historians (except Georg Dufner Geschichte der Jesuaten, 1970) not owing to its low importance or its low spread, but owing to the objective difficulty in finding the historical sources. In fact the documents have dispersed in a large number of archives and libraries because the congregation’s suppression occurred in 1668. The monograph follows a thorough process of identification of manuscript sources that was crucial to reconstructing the historical events of the congregation. The congregation is a very interesting case study in several respects, primarily with regard to its constitution process. It crossed a long period very fluid, a phase long-term "charismatic" during wich the institutional backbone of the movement has builded its form and its substance gradually. This kind of process had even contradictory moments, anyway the institutional profile created was very original, effectively combining theology and law. The most interesting element that emerges from analysis is the progressive institutionalization of the religious experience but it was not the effect of external pressure (the ecclesiastical apparatus) but the result of a internal demand for legitimacy and self-definition. Often this demand has been originated by the practical behavioral (for example, the management of sanctuaries; the need to obtain the bequests, etc.). An interesting element of congregation was the rejection of the priesthood and the consequent political and cultural strategy. The book analyzes also the cultural profile of the congregation, its peculiarity and explains its theological and ecclesiological self-consciousness and the most prevalent forms of piety. At last the monograph evidences the relational network activated by the congregation in the different contexts of its dissemination and of its history, highlighting how the network of contacts between the jesuats and the other external actors (individuals, groups, devotees) has produced an interaction determinant both on the inside front, as on the outside. Finally have been studied figures very important for the congregation history ( as Giovanni Colombini, Antonio Bettini etc.).
