Environmental conditions affect grapevine responses, determining the quality and quantity of yield. The analysis of these aspects represents a fundamental element for the rationalisation of agricultural activity, particularly concerning the cultivation techniques, the management of crop protection and watering, the planning of harvesting. To satisfy this exigency a multidisciplinary study has been performed in Poggio Casciano farm (Bagnoa Ripoli) located in the hilly area close to Florence. This research integrates experts from diferent fields, such as agronomy, viticulture, soil science and agrometeorology to define the relationships between environmental conditions and Sangiovese variety responses in the different farm areas. The results have been analysed to assess the characteristics of the areaa in order to optimise the interaction variety-environment through the application of the most correct management techniques.
