The main question addressed in this dissertation is: Are the legislation and policies of
Ethiopia, Botswana and Uganda providing for various modalities of HIV testing consistent with human rights as enshrined under the African Human Rights system? Critically investigating the African human rights HIV testing instruments as well as the relevant domestic legislation and policies of the three countries.
