[en] From 1985 to 1992, 229 breeding pairs of kingfisher were studied to determine the reproduction success and the way population recovered after the severe winter 1984-85. From these investigations, we were able to observe four successive nesting attempts by five different pairs. Four broods were raised by one of the pairs. As the adult were ringed birds and were regularky checked throughout the breeding season, ther can be no doubt, now, as to the possibility of a fourth brood for this species, at least in peculiar circumstances.
