Description

Clan Buchanan was a four-masted ship built for the firm of T. Dunlop & Sons, also of Glasgow. In 1900, the ship was re-rigged as a 4-masted bark. At the very end of 1908, the ship was sold to a Norwegian firm at Stavanger and renamed Valerie. This photograph dates from that era. A German submarine, U-2, sank Valerie in 1917.
