Xitian Si (西天寺) Stupas Baycroft, Anne; Mitchell, Maggie; Bass, Emma

Description

Six stupas lay outside the walls of Xitian Temple a few hundred meters away from the temple's main gate. Xitian Temple resides near the centre of Mount Wutai, north of the town of Taihuai. The six stupas house the relics of of the monk Bishan Shantang Yunkong da heshang 碧山善堂雲空大和尚 (d. 1988), the monk Guanghui lao heshang 廣慧老和尚 (d. 1986), the monk Chengsen ?xiu lao heshang 承參?修(d. 1981), the monk Guoding果定 [hui?慧] lao heshang (d. 1981), the monk Jingru淨如 lao heshang (d. 1991), and of Master Naigong (Guoshi naigong 國師乃公).
