ディスプレイ用材の需要と生産に関する研究 : 京都・大阪を事例として

Abstract

ディスプレイ展示や大道具などの仮設的な建造物の製作に用いられる「ディスプレイ用材」は、寸法体系が特殊で一般の一等材より上質な製品であり, 少量即納が要求される。したがって京都では, 消費地に近い京都市の小売製材業がこれらの生産にあたり, 直接ディスプレイ業に供給する形態が主流である。これに対して大阪では, 問屋と材木小売業を経由して北陸や四国など遠隔地の大型製材産地の製品が供給されている。流通段階において適切な量の在庫と選別が行われ, たとえ製材産地が遠隔地であってもディスプレイ業の少量即納の要求に対応できる仕組みが形成されているのである。ディスプレイ用材の需要の特質が, 生産および流通コストを上昇させるため, その価格は一般建築用材と比較して2割以上高い水準になっている。

In this study, "display lumber" means lumber used for temporary structure such as display or stage setting. Display lumber needs special size, higher quality than first-grade lumber for housing, and prompt delivery system of small lots to users. Therefore as for Kyoto City, it is produced and supplied users by small and flexible sawmills in the city. On the other hand as for Osaka City, it is supplied users by wholesalers and retailers of lumber in the city who bought it from big sawmills located in remote area such as Hokuriku and Shikoku. They can supply the display lumber to the users promptly according to the small order, because they have stock and sorting function of display lumber unlike the big sawmills. Because of the property of the display lumber in the process of producing and delivery, its price is higher than that of housing lumber by over twenty percent.
