Oceanographic ResearchThe PNF-300 Natural Fluorometer is an optical instrument for oceanographic research developed under NASA contract by Biospherical Instruments, Inc. An important innovation for oceanographers, it measures photosynthetic productivity and estimates phytoplankton production less expensively, is non-intrusive and can be used on site - an improved way of estimating ocean productivity. Applications include environmental impact studies, monitoring plankton concentrations in a reservoir, and other research uses.
