Solvated C<inf>70</inf> single crystals for organic field effect transistors
2022, Chemical Physics LettersCitation Excerpt :C60 single crystals are widely grown using vapors or solutions. During vapor growth by sublimation, pure C60 single crystals with close-packed face-centered cubic (fcc) forms can be obtained using a pure C60 powder source [8–10]. Meanwhile, in solution growth, solvated single crystals with various shapes and crystal forms can be easily obtained by changing the solvent used [11–13].
The recent advances in C<inf>60</inf> micro/nanostructures and their optoelectronic applications
2021, Organic ElectronicsCitation Excerpt :The shape of the C60 single crystal relies on the growth rate of the crystal plane [15]. Since the growth rate of the (00–2) crystal plane is greater than that of the (-1-1-1) crystal plane, the (-1-1-1) crystal plane is more stable [16,17]. The principle is also the same for other crystal planes, so the theoretical equilibrium morphology of C60 single crystal can be obtained as shown in Fig. 1b.
Synthesis of differently shaped C<inf>70</inf> nano/microcrystals by using various aromatic solvents and their crystallinity-dependent photoluminescence
2012, CarbonCitation Excerpt :Other methods involve solvent evaporation methods where C70 crystals with size up to several mm were grown from benzene or toluene solutions. These methods are however time-consuming (4–6 weeks) [24,25] and most C70 solvates degrade rapidly when removed from the mother liquor [22]. More recently wire like C70 crystals in the nano/micro range were synthesized by a sol–gel synthesis method combined with a porous alumina template [26].
