Biographical notes

Nursed the aboriginal victims of leprosy when it was illegal to do so. Was awarded an MBE for rowing 145 km to save a man who shot himself accidentally. Ruth was convinced that her work would amounted to nothing had it not been for the aborigines who worked with her.,
