This report provides a preliminary estimate of groundwater storage in the Cambrian Carbonate Aquifers at Orange Creek. The estimated storage volumes reported here can be used as a consideration for determining the estimated sustainable yield of the resource. The aim of this report is not to provide and extensive groundwater assessment – there is limited data for this resource and it is expected that a more thorough assessment will be completed after additional drilling and monitoring investigations in 2018/19.
Past modelling and historical monitoring data from the Shannon Formation aquifer at Alice Springs’ Roe Creek Borefield, a close analogue of the Cambrian Carbonate Aquifers, have been collated and applied to produce preliminary groundwater storage volumes,
