    • Biographical / Historical note:David J. Edwards was pastor of the American and English Union Church in Leipzig from at least 1888 until 1896, when he left due to a dispute with some members of his church. He spent a short time preaching in Brussels, after which he returned to the U.S., preaching in various places including Peace Dale, Rhode Island between 1897 and 1898, Clifton Springs, New Jersey in 1902, and Margaretville, New York in 1904. He appears to have resided in New Haven, Connecticut during this period and also to have worked for the Y.M.C.A. from time to time.
