The collection contains pamphlets, brochures, and other ephemera on individual artists published by museums, galleries, and other institutions throughout the world. The majority of the materials are exhibition listings and catalogs.

Individual bibliographic records were created in Orbis previously for the majority of the items in the collection and assigned the Orbis location Art and Architecture, Uncataloged A, and the call number xcat A[rtists]. These material are not shelved individually but are boxed in alphabetical order by artist name. Readers who have identified an item in Orbis that they wish to see should consult the box listing within the collection finding aid to determine which box should be requested through the Arts Library Special Collections department.
