Abstract

Talking about Confucian-ism, we would not be able to avoid the most classical philosophical question of “what is?”: What is Confucianism? As the name “Confucianism” tends to lead us into believing that it refers to a coherent entity, whether physical or mental, textual or spiritual. But do we really know what Confucianism is? Is there such a “thing” as Confucianism? Is there “Confucianism”? And, if so, is there only “one” Confucianism?
