Staying Relevant: An Analysis of U.S. Marxist-Leninist Organizational Activity in a Post-Soviet Environment

With the collapse of the Soviet Union and Eastern Bloc, U.S. Marxist-Leninist organizations have had to adapt to the ever changing political and social climate of a highly globalized, capitalist environment. With the advent of new technologies allowing mass communication with an ease unseen before, Marxist-Leninist organizations have the ability to reach out to a new level of audience that can allow greater public growth and connectedness. In addition, incorporation of additional facets of struggles including ethnic, gender, and sexual self determination have allowed modern Marxist-Leninist organizations to transcend the sole focus of class struggle. With additional struggles giving Marxist-Leninist organizations an additional level of dimensionality, the potential for a re-imagination of a new Marxist-Leninist Vanguard party becomes ever more tangible.
