The reeducation of German prisoners during World War II

During World War II the American government transported nearly 350,000 German prisoners of war (POWs) to the U.S. and created a secret mission to reeducate them. The War Department's Prisoner of War Special Projects Division's (SPD) confidential objective was to foster respect and admiration for America and democracy in the German prisoners.
