Seneca Lake

For my MA thesis I have written a young adult novel set in rural upstate New York during WWII. The story explores issues of home, race, friendship and the aftereffects of violence via a year in the life of a fifteen-year old girl, Meg. To complement my thesis I have written a critical essay detailing my concerns with writing memoir, with borrowing family stories, and with creating a realistic, sensitively drawn Native American character.
