Effectiveness of interactive education on type II diabetes mellitus (t2DM) prevention in rural Latinx youth

The significant increase in the prevalence of Type II Diabetes Mellitus (t2DM) worldwide is a major public issue among rural Latinx adolescents. Peer education classes have shown many positive results for increasing nutrition knowledge. However, lack of evidence and studies on interactive peer education classes and t2DM brought this study to work. This study aims to measure the effectiveness of interactive peer education concerning t2DM, physical activity, and healthy eating knowledge among rural Latinx adolescents of Grimmway Academy, Arvin, and measure the participants' willingness to share this information among family, peers, and community to promote the prevention of future t2DM cases.
