Mental Health Policy Reform to Reduce Homelessness

The United States government is chastised for its development and implementation of mental health policy to contribute to a viable solution for homelessness. This issue is treated as an uncontrollable social obstacle in society. This research study examines the implementation of mental health policy and its impact on decreasing homelessness. This issue persists despite political leaders attempting to supply an appropriate solution. It reviews multiple supporting elements such as deficient mental health programs, substance abuse, and insufficient availability of public housing associated with mental health policy implementation within communities to reduce homelessness. This study analyzes the factors and parties that have an impact on this issue historically and presently in society. This paper ascertains that through proper planning, adequate support, sufficient funding, and action, mental health among the homeless can be addressed comprehensively.
