Title: | Visual learning : an approach to help chinese dyslexic children to overcome learning disabilities. | Authors: | Huang, Yuxian. | Keywords: | DRNTU::Visual arts and music | Issue Date: | 2012 | Abstract: | Dyslexia is a learning difference. Children with dyslexia find it difficult to read, write, spell, comprehend written passages and articulate their thoughts even though they are smart enough and are motivated to learn. Originally, most of what is known about dyslexia came from studies conducted in English speaking countries, but it is now recognized that Asian children also experience specific difficulties in reading. In Singapore, dyslexia in reading Chinese has doubled that of dyslexia in reading English. This project targets at designing suitable teaching aids for Singapore Primary School children with dyslexia to overcome their learning disabilities in Chinese. | URI: | http://hdl.handle.net/10356/48742 | Schools: | School of Art, Design and Media | Rights: | Nanyang Technological University | Fulltext Permission: | restricted | Fulltext Availability: | With Fulltext |
