성인애착과 실연 스트레스 및 실연 후 성장의 관계

Abstract

본 연구는 연인관계의 종결로 인한 실연 스트레스와 실연 이후 성장에 관한 것으로, 실연한 사람의 어떤 특성이 실연 스트레스와 실연 후 성장을 감소시키거나 증가시키는지에 관심을 갖는다. 선행연구에서 실연 스트레스 및 실연 후 성장과 관련이 보고된 다양한 심리적 변인 중 본 연구는 애착불안과 애착회피의 두 차원으로 구성되는 성인애착에 초점을 맞추었는데, 이는 성인애착이 성인의 애정관계 발달, 유지, 이별 현상을 설명할 수 있으며, 동시에 성격발달, 정서조절, 정신병리에 대한 조망을 제공해 줄 수 있다는 점에서 실연경험에서 주목해볼만한 구성개념이기 때문이다. 구체적으로 성인애착의 두 차원 중 애착불안은 실연 스트레스에 정적인 영향을 미치는 반면, 애착회피는 실연 스트레스에 영향을 미치지 않을 것이라 예측하고 이를 확인하고자 하였다. 또한 애착회피는 실연 후 성장에 부적인 영향을 미치는 반면, 애착불안은 실연 후 성장에 영향을 미치지 않을 것이라 예측하고 이를 확인하고자 하였다. 나아가 실연 스트레스와 실연 후 성장의 관계가 어떤 관계에 있는지를 탐색하고자 하였다. 이를 위해 성인애착의 두 차원, 실연 스트레스, 실연 후 성장의 세 변인 사이에서 예측한 경로를 갖는 연구모형과 다양한 경로들을 갖는 대안모형들을 설정하고 구조방정식 모형검증으로 예측한 경로모형이 적합한 모형인지 검증하고자 하였다. 앞 단계 연구에서 가장 적합한 경로모형이 채택되면, 이 모형의 성인애착이 실연 스트레스에 영향을 미치는 과정과 성인애착이 실연 후 성장에 영향을 미치는 과정에서 자기가치감 수반성의 조절효과를 확인하는 것이 이 연구의 두 번째 연구문제이다. 구체적으로 성인애착의 두 차원 중 애착불안과 실연 스트레스의 관계에서 자기가치감 수반성 타인승인이 조절효과를 나타낼 것이라 예상하고 이를 확인하고자 하였다. 또 성인애착의 두 차원 중 애착회피와 실연 후 성장의 관계에서 자기가치감 수반성 신의 사랑이 조절효과를 나타낼 것이라 예상하고 이를 확인하고자 하였다. 나아가 성인애착과 실연 스트레스 및 실연 후 성장의 관계에서 성인애착과 2개의 자기가치감 수반성 요인의 삼원 상호작용 효과를 탐색적으로 확인하고자 하였다. 이 연구를 위해 총 1,524명의 대학생이 설문지에 응답하였다. 이 중 현 시점으로부터 6개월 이내에 실연경험이 있는 233명이 자료분석에 사용되었다. 연구자료를 분석한 결과는 다음과 같다. 첫째, 다양한 실연 관련 변인들과 실연 스트레스 및 실연 후 성장의 관계에서, 실연 스트레스에는 관계몰입정도, 실연원인에 대한 나에 대한 귀인, 관계만족이 유의미한 정적인 영향을, 실연 후 성장에는 자기가치감 수반성 신의 사랑 요인이 유의미한 정적인 영향을 미치는 것으로 나타났다. 둘쩨, 성인애착과 실연 스트레스 간 관계에서, 성인애착의 애착불안 차원만 실연 스트레스에 유의미한 정적인 영향을 미치는 것으로 나타나, 애착불안 수준이 높을수록 더 심각한 실연 스트레스 증상을 갖게 됨을 보여 주었다. 셋째, 성인애착과 실연 후 성장 간 관계에서, 성인애착의 애착회피 차원이 실연 후 성장에 유의미한 부적인 영향을 미치는 것으로 나타나, 애착회피 수준이 높을수록 실연 후 성장이 발생하기 어렵게 됨을 보여주었다. 넷째, 실연 스트레스와 실연 후 성장 간 관계에서, 실연 스트레스와 실연 후 성장은 상호관련이 없는 독립적인 변인으로 나타났다. 다섯째, 애착불안과 자기가치감 수반성의 타인승인 요인이 상호작용하여 실연 스트레스에 영향을 미치는 것으로 나타났다. 여섯째, 삼원 상호작용을 분석한 결과, 애착불안과 자기가치감 수반성 타인승인 및 자기가치감 수반성 신의 사랑의 상호작용 효과가 나타났다. 나타난 결과에 대한 이론적 논의와 상담 실제에 대한 시사점을 논의하였다. 또한 연구 의의 및 제한점과 향후연구를 위한 제언을 기술하였다.

The present study is about breakup distress and growth following dissolution of romantic relationship. This study focus on the relationship among breakup distress, growth and adult attachment with two dimension(attachment anxiety and attachment avoidance). For this study, the research model and alternative models which has various path with attachment dimension, breakup distress and growth was set and it was tested whether research model fits by using structural equation modeling. The second aim of this study is to verify whether contingencies of self-worth(CSW) moderate the relationship between adult attachment and breakup distress, the relationship between adult attachment and growth, once the appropriate model is chosen. Specifically, It was hypothesized that others' approval CSW would moderate the relationship between attachment anxiety and breakup stress. Also It was hypothesized that gods love CSW would moderate the relationship between attachment avoidance and growth. Furthermore, in the relationship between adult attachment and breakup distress, between adult attachment and growth, the researcher attempted to explore whether adult attachment and two CSW factor would have moderate effect. 1,524 university students responded to the survey and data of 233 students who experienced breakup within 6 months were used for statistic analysis. The results are as follows. First, It was shown that attachment anxiety affect positively to breakup distress, which means the higher the level of attachment anxiety, the higher the breakup distress would be. Second, It was shown that attachment avoidance affects negatively to growth, which means attachment avoidance hinders growth. Third, the relationship between breakup distress and growth was identified to be independent. Fourth, others approval CSW moderated the relationship between attachment anxiety and breakup distress. Lastly, there were moderate effect among attachment anxiety, others approval CSW and gods love CSW in the relationship between attachment anxiety and breakup distress. Theoretical and clinical implications and limitations are discussed.
