중학생의 성별에 따른 유해사이트 활용이 학습 및 학교생활에 미치는 영향

Abstract

최근 청소년은 시간과 장소의 구애 없이 인터넷을 활용할 수 있게 되면서 유해사이트를 활용할 수 있는 환경 에 쉽게 노출되고 있다. 그동안 청소년의 인터넷 활용이 신체적․정신적 발달에 어떠한 영향을 미치는 지에 대한 연구가 진행되어 왔으나 대부분 인터넷 중독에 대한 연구가 대부분이고 유해사이트활용에 대한 관심은 상대적 으로 저조하였다. 따라서 본 연구에서는 청소년의 인터넷 중독관련 선행연구결과를 참조하여, 중학생의 성별에 따른 유해사이트 활용빈도와 유해사이트 몰입도가 그들의 학습 및 학교생활에 어떠한 영향을 미치는지 분석하 고자 하였다. 본 연구대상은 2011 한국아동․청소년 패널조사 2차년도 추적조사에 참여한 중학교 2학년 2280명 (남: 1152명, 여: 1128명)의 자료를 활용하였으며 유해사이트 몰입도와 관련해서는 유해사이트 활용경험이 있는 538명(남: 428명, 여: 110명)의 자료를 활용하였다. 연구결과, 전체 연구대상의 약 23%가 유해콘텐츠활용경험 이 있다고 응답하였고 그 중 월 10회 이상 유해콘텐츠를 이용하는 학생은 약 8%인 것으로 나타났다. 성별에 따른 유해사이트 활용차이를 분석한 결과, 남학생이 여학생보다 유해사이트 활용빈도와 유해사이트 몰입도가 높은 것으로 나타났고 남학생의 경우 유해사이트 몰입도가 높을수록 학업성취도가 낮은 것으로 확인되었다. 그 리고 유해사이트 활용빈도 및 유해사이트 몰입도가 높을수록 학교생활적응에 부정적인 영향을 미치는 것으로 드러났으나 유해사이트 활용빈도에 따른 또래애착에는 차이가 없으며 단지, 유해사이트 몰입도가 높을수록 학생 들이 소외감을 더 느끼고 있는 것으로 확인되었다. 연구결과에 기반을 두어 청소년들의 건전한 인터넷 활용을 통해 학업성취도 및 학교적응능력을 신장시키기 위한 몇 가지 시사점을 제안하였다.

Adolescents can recently use the internet in anytime and anyplace, so they can access easily offensive or harmful internet site. Many researchers have studied the effects of adolescents' internet use on their physical and mental developments but these studies are mostly focus on internet addiction and there are a little studies related to indecent media uses. Therefore, the purpose of this study is to investigate the effects of adolescents' indecent internet site use and flow according to gender differences on learning and school life. Research participants are 2280 middle school students (M: 1152, F: 1128) who participated in the second year of Korea Children and Youth Panel Survey(KCYPS) in 2012 and 538 middle school students(F: 428, F: 110) among them had experience in indecent internet site use. As results, approximately 23% students among research participants had used indecent internet site and approximately 8% students responded that they usually used harmful internet site more than 10 times per a month during the last year. The frequency and flow in indecent internet site use of male students were higher than them of female students and the results showed that the higher the flow rate of indecent internet site the lower male students' academic achievements. The frequency and flow in indecent media negatively affected students' school life adjustments but there was no significant difference in peer attachment according to the frequency of indecent internet site. The research only showed that the more the indecent internet site flow, the more the sense of alienation. Based on research results, we have suggested some strategies on adolescents' sound internet use.
