雁鴨池 출토 14면체 목제 주사위 놀이 방식 연구

Abstract

본고는 雁鴨池·臨海殿 발굴 작업 가운데 출토된 14면체 목제 주사위의 놀이 방식은 究明하는 데 연구 목적을 둔다. 14면체 목제 주사위 놀이 방식을 구명함으로써 1300년 전 신라 상류 문화에 한 걸음 더 다가갈 수 있을 것이다. 안압지·임해전 발굴은 1975-1976년에 걸쳐 시행되었다. 발굴 당시, 신라 사회상을 추적할 수 있는 귀중한 유물이 쏟아져 나왔다. 본고에서 살필 14면체 목제 주사위는 1975년 6월 19일 출토되었다. 단 한 구만 출토된 이 목제 주사위는 사각형에 육각형을 조합한 14면체 모양과 各面 난해 문구로 세간의 이목을 집중시켰다. 특히, 14개에 이르는 4~5字 銘文은 그 해석을 두고 근래에 이르도록 논란을 거듭했다.

This article examines 14-face dice play rules found from Anapji. They played with a 14-face dice at the banquet during the Silla Period, and it had the following rules: first, they appointed a host for it. And the appointed host selected the play that the guests could enjoy together and emceed the game. At this time, the person Who could not follow the drinking rules of the game at the party properly had to throw a 14-face dice. 14 instructions can be divided into three groups according to the procedures. First, as they literally meant, the instructions in the group had to be completed immediately. And the instructions are JunginjeongbiㆍYangjanjeukbangㆍSamjanilgeoㆍYubeomgonggwa. Second, this group highly depends on Noksas judgment. And those instructions are GongyeongsigwaㆍJachangjaeumㆍJachanggoeraemanㆍWolgyeongilgokㆍGokbijeukjinㆍChumulmakbang. When one of these six instructions was gained, Noksa intervened with it actively and evaluated what the dice thrower had done. If the dice thrower could not fulfill the penalty properly, Noksa added penalty throwing. Third, this group relies on the audiences responses, and they include Eumjindaeso, Imuicheongga, Geumseongjakmu, and Nongmyeongonggwa. When one of these four instructions was gained, Noksa judged whether it had been completed or not considering the audiences responses.
