Considers the presence and the chronological development of the Judeo-Christian concept of Good and Evil in the writing of Janette Turner Hospital. The thesis sees the early influence of the Pentecostal Church and its ethical and moral directives as crucial to the adult writer's creative work. It establishes how, through the medium of her postmodern novels, she confronts the vulnerability of women, morality in the general community, the notion of difference and the consequences of discrimination.
