The overall aim of this thesis was to develop a measure of body image specifically for pregnancy. The Body Image in Pregnancy Scale [BIPS] was developed. The results of this thesis showed that the BIPS was reliable and valid, and improved upon existing measures of body image utilised in pregnancy.
