Uman Text of Polish Literature (the end of the 18th century and the first half of the 19th century)
Abstract
Głównym celem pracy jest modelowanie tekstu kultury związanego z obrazem Humania w pisarstwie literackim oraz materiałach dokumentalnych z końca XVIII i pierwszej połowy XIX wieku oraz wprowadzenie – po raz pierwszy – do badań literaturoznawczych pojęcia humańskiego tekstu jako lokalnej, strukruralno-semantycznej kategorii polskiej kultury.
Szczególną uwagę zwrócono na rolę literatury w powstaniu tekstu humańskiego. Rozprawa składa się z trzech części, poświęconych analizie i interpretacji utworów literackich i innych źródeł, w których pojawia się Humań jako arena krwawych wydarzeń 1768 roku oraz jako miejsce, gdzie w roku 1796 Sranisław Potocki założył Zofiówkę.
Głównym przedmiotem analizy stały się teksty kultury, reprezentujące różny poziom artystyczny i status – przeważnie polskojęzyczne osiemnasto – i dziwiętnastowieczne wypowiedzi dotyczące Humania, kiedy tekst humański stał się obiektem ożywionej i wielopostaciowej refleksji.
Rozprawa zawiera analizę najważnieszych elementów symbolicznych tekstu humańskiego, które składają sie na jego słownik (poziom paradygmatyczny) oraz ich powiązań syntagmatycznych, które generują nowe znaczenia.
The main purpose of the work is modeling of the text of culture related to the image of Uman in literary writing and documentary materials from the late eighteenth and first half of the nineteenth century, and introducing - for the first time - into the literary studies of the notion of a Uman text as a local, structural - semantic category of Polish culture. Particular attention was paid to the role of literature in the creation of the Uman text. The dissertation consists of three parts, devoted to the analysis and interpretation of literary works and other sources, in which Uman appears as the arena of bloody events of 1768 and as the place where in 1796 Sranisław Potocki founded Zofiówka. The main subject of the analysis were cultural texts representing various status and artistic levels - mostly Polish-language eighteenth - and nineteenth-century statements about Uman, when the Uman text became the object of lively and multiforme reflection. The dissertation contains an analysis of the most important symbolic elements of the Uman text, which make up its dictionary (paradigmatic level) and their syntagmatic relationships that generate new meanings.
