Zusammenfassung
Auch wenn mittlerweile zahlreiche exegetische Publikationen über Johannes den Täufer vorliegen, so ist er doch in religionsdidaktischen Überlegungen nach wie vor nur bedingt im Blick. Der vorliegende Beitrag diskutiert vor diesem Hintergrund auf der Basis exegetischer Orientierungen die Herausforderungen und Chancen, die mit einer religionsunterrichtlichen Thematisierung des Johannes verknüpft sind. Der Text vertritt die These, dass Leben, Botschaft und Wirkungsgeschichte des Johannes ein großes bibeldidaktisches Potential beinhalten, das verstärkt aufgegriffen werden sollte.
Abstract
Although there are numerous exegetical publications on John the Baptist, he is still only partially present in subject-didactic reflections concerning religious education in schools. Against this background and based on exegetical orientations, the present article discusses the challenges and opportunities that are linked with the topic of John the Baptist in religious education in schools. The script argues that John’s life, message, and historical effects contain a great bible-didactic potential which should be appropriated and implemented more intensively.
