ABSTRACT: The aim of this dissertation is to study the solutions of differential equations defined by discontinuous vector fields and its relationship with differential inclusions. We begin by analyzing the existence, uniqueness and continuous dependence with respect to initial data of Carathéodory solutions. Then we study the generalized solutions using two approaches. One approach is to define general solution as uniform limit of a certain sequence of approximate solutions, thus introducing the solutions of Euler and Hermes. The other approach consists on defining general solution as solution of a certain differential inclusion associated with the differential equation, and we use it study the regularization of differential equations with discontinuous right side, and to introduce the concepts of Krasowski and Filippov solutions. |
