The article study deals with the issue of Czech folktales with legendary elements in the broader context of folklore research on folktales and verbal folklore in Czech culture. The study analyzes Czech collections containing narratives of this type from the 19th and the 20th century, the conditions of their recording, the research on these texts, and their present-day reception.
