The Institute of Art History of the Czech Academy of Sciences, the Department of Art History of the Masaryk University in Brno, and the Faculty of Restoration, University of Pardubice, prepared an international conference devoted to the problems of art theory and practice in the field of wall and ceiling painting of the 17th and 18th centuries in Europe. Participants from several European countries focused on the social and cultural environment of the time, the material nature of the image and the formal aspects of mural painting in the context of artistic practice.
