This study reports three cases of predation by the Large Green-eyed Frog (Cryptothylax greshoffii) on Osorio's Spiny Reed Frog (Afrixalus osorioi) in the Sankuru Nature Reserve, Democratic Republic of the Congo. The study describes the characteristics of both the predator and the prey species and provides details of the observed predation events. It also mentions previous research on anurophagy (frog-eating behaviour) and highlights the presence of both species in high densities in the observed area. The authors suggest that further field observations are needed to understand the frequency and nature of anuran predation by anurans in Central African forests.
