Title
Restoring Privacy: A Bipartisan Approach
Description
The intelligence agencies that are responsible for protecting American against terrorists have been conducting sweeping surveillance of everyday, law-abiding Americans. Congressman Jim Sensenbrenner (R-WI) has joined forces with Senator Patrick Leahy (D-VT) to restore the right to privacy, stop the government's dragnet collection of phone records, and create new oversight of the National Security Agency and other intelligence operations. Congressman Sensenbrenner reports on why he is taking a lead in reconciling the imperative of national security with the imperative of protecting Americans' constitutional rights.
