Title
Determination of Vegetation History from Isle Royale Lignin
Abstract
Sediment samples, taken from Isle Royale, were analyzed using elemental analyzer isotope ratio mass spectrometry (EA/IRMS). Lignin in the samples were to be analyzed via lignin-phenol analysis, however, this was interrupted due to COVID-19. Results show, via carbon to nitrogen ratio (C:N) and the ratio of carbon 13 to carbon 12, a rough trend in the EA/IRMS data, showing a trend in plant type shifting from C3 plants to C4 plants.
